Ever feel like you’re at war with food? I know I did. Food was so complicated when I was deep in the world of counting and tracking. I always felt like I couldn’t have what I wanted. Feeling deprived was an emotion I just got used to feeling. I wasn’t necessarily hungry, but I wasn’t eating food I wanted to eat, either. I knew something was wrong when I was cooking up 3/4 C of egg whites just to stay in my macro counting goals, even though it would literally make me feel sick for hours afterward.
Maybe your story isn’t as extreme as mine. Or maybe it is. Regardless, there’s an important reason why you have to just make peace with food, in order for food to settle into a normal and natural place in your life again.
